Stephen Barrett the voice and real Quack

Do not, for even a second, think that the US "Quackbuster" operation, a plot to stop anyone, and everyone, from changing the broken US health care system, is run, or even maintained, by delicensed MD Stephen Barrett out of his 2421 West Greenleaf Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania address, or his condo at 287 Stoneview, Pittsboro, North Carolina. It would be foolish to assume that this bitter, nasty, old man, who stumbles through life, tripping from one professional failure to another, is running a cleverly set up plot. He's just the "front man." The one they want you to focus on. He's ill. He'll die soon, and someone else will take his place as the frontispiece.

So, who really is running it? And why? And, how is it being done? Keep reading, and all will be revealed.

SUMMARY:

The 2008 Quackbuster operation is involved in “info wars” on the internet. It is a public relations "black-ops," run out of a New York misinformation agency. It has six components designed to do two things: (1) provide false and misleading negative healthcare information, primarily through the internet, to (a) the general public, and (b) employees of health insurance companies, medical malpractice insurance companies, health agencies, County, State, and Federal enforcement agencies about those trying to fix/change the health care system, and people, therapies, products, etc., that compete with the current status quo, and (2) block, or diminish sources of substantial information about positive aspects of those people, therapies, products, etc, that compete with the status quo.

The plot is pervasive, well funded, and well run. And, it's time to break it up. This article will give you the information on how it works, and tips on how to stop it from affecting YOU and your interests.

The New York agency's intent is to not just defame, but to make that defamation, through organization, appear at the top of the search engines like Google. Below, I’ll show you how they do that. They have organized to manipulate the online encyclopedia Wikipedia information about health care. They also, through people trained in disruption, troll Usenet (google) discussion groups, badmouthing advanced health care, regularly.

I emphasize that all of this attack is “organized”… and can be traced back to the same people – about five, or six, of them.

In other words, it is not just about Quackwatch. Worldwide, there are four major “quackbuster” centers: the US, Denmark, Canada, and Australia. In the US we are familiar with Barrett, Baratz, etc. In Australia we have “ratbags,” Peter Bowditch. In Canada we have Terry Polevoy. In Denmark we have Paul Lee PT (quackfiles).

The up-and-comer in all this is Paul Lee PT from Denmark, for it is he who manages both the Wikipedia information manipulation system, and the search engine top ranking system I’ll describe below. Although, the TWO systems, in place, give the quackbuster operation “info wars” advantage they also, because of how, and where, they did it, bring Lee, Polevoy and Bowditch, and all of the foreign operations under the jurisdiction of the US Court system. In other words - they made a big mistake, in their eagerness to corrupt.

Why? Because Wikipedia is based in Florida. The search engine placement system they use, called “webring” is based in Ashland, Oregon. Since they do business with these US companies, they are subject to be sued for their activities in this country.

THE COMPONENTS:

(1) The Quackbuster Communication Network has five parts:

(a) The Consumer Health Digest is a newsletter with mailing list of over twelve thousand names. The newsletter is sent out weekly to the mailing list. The list is made up of lower and middle level employees of county, state, and federal health administration and enforcement agencies, and employees of health insurance and medical malpractice insurance company employees. The so-called "Digest" is a simple tool to do two things: (1) propagandize those lower level employees into believing that the targets of the so-called articles are "bad people," criminals, doubtfuls, etc., and (2) convince those employees that they should devote time to investigating, prosecuting, or, at the very least, watching, the targets constantly.

If you, or yours, are the subject of any article on this newsletter - beware, for the readers of these articles are not the brightest people in the world, and would tend to believe what they read.

(b) The Health Fraud Discussion Group has two functions: (1) People making inquiries of information on "quackwatch.org" are "invited" to ask questions on this discussion group where, supposedly, "experts" will give the inquirer more information. Those "experts" are just more quackbuster operatives relaying more of the same lies and misinformation. (2) The discussion group provides a format for the quackbusters to showcase subjects, or people they want to defame or deride.

(c) The Skeptics Discussion Group is simply a means for the quackbuster propaganda system to tie into the worldwide "Skeptic" organization by trying to interest the Skeptic movement in being super-critical of the issues the quackbusters promote. Frankly, I don't know how well this works, or doesn't work, for them, because the involved so-called "skeptics" I see publicly are, for the most part, dolts - pseudo-skeptics operating in a pseudo-intellectual mode, trying to impress others with their claims to Mensa status - and not doing very well at it.

(d) The James Randi Discussion Group is an odd thing. James Randi, who bills himself as "The Amazing Randi," is, it appears, a fifth-rate magician who seems to play the Motel-6 Lounge Circuit in the US. He gets himself on television promoting various "doubts" about various things. Randi is not very impressive, and when you batch that together with his gargantuan ego, and his pompous presentations, you get just about what you would expect.

(e) SSR.com is the lair of Scott Ballantyne and the ScottSoft Research group out of New York City. SSR.com is the HOST for all of the above. Ballantyne is a relative unknown, and there is no obvious reason apparent why Ballantyne provides expertise, time, and labor to host, and manage, the four activities above. I suspect he is funded directly out of the New York misinformation agency.

Note - for those of you who wish to subpoena information (and you should) from SSR.com (Ballantyne), about the activities of these entities above in regards to individual clients, contact me, and I'll provide the data you need for subpoenas - and more. Ballantyne, I think, is in a panic (and he should be), lately, for he destroyed all of the archives of the Health Fraud Discussion Group, as he says, "for legal reasons."

(2) The Quackbuster manipulation of Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia:

Wikipedia is an odd thing. It is made up of a so-called "volunteer system." Several years ago, a team of quackbusters infiltrated various levels of the Wikipedia operation, and are now entrenched in the middle, and lower, level volunteer management system. If you try and put any positive information about advanced medicine, or the problems of US health care, on Wikipedia, or change false or misleading information the quackbusters have installed, you will fail. You will be blocked from further "editing" and the pages of Wikipedia will now carry information about what a "terrible person you are." The only way to have ANY influence over what Wikipedia says about subject is to approach them with a legal threat letter at the highest levels. Nothing else works. Even that has problems, for Wikipedia management operates on a financial shoestring, and apparently has no ability to police its own encyclopedia. Unfortunately, people use the encyclopedia - and they get very bad information about health care.

Below is a paragraph from the editor’s section of Wikipedia. The editor, here, is discussing the problem of the quackbuster slime, acting to control the information flow on Wikipedia - and what to do about it. so you understand the abbreviation POV stand for Point of View, and NPOV stands for No Point of View, which Wikipedia wants. The part in red is for emphasis. Read this:

I guess it depends on what purpose the External Links section serves. Do the links have to serve the NPOV interests of the article or can the links section be a place where specific points-of-view can have a chance to be expressed? As it is now, the chiropractic link section is broken down into Advocacy and Critiques. I think that this warns the researcher that they are leaving the NPOV environment that Wikipedia tries to provide and will be entering a POV external site.

If these links are truly just linking to the page for marketing reasons and don't serve a primary function of adding to the knowledge-base, I would then say to axe them. I haven't checked every critical link, but they do seem to link to essays or research on pages that don't directly try to sell you anything (other than their POV). If they are all offering the same POV with no really distinguishing differences, then they should be reduced in number.

The soapbox point is interesting. These are external links so it would seem that Wikipedia is not being directly exploited as a soapbox. However, the abundance of critical links could be seen as an attempt to present bias... using the amount of negative criticisms to invoke a negative POV about chiropractic. My solution up until now has been to add to the advocacy links to balance out the criticism. You can certainly try to delete the critical links and claim NPOV but I can almost guarantee you that you be quickly (and improperly) accused of "vandalism" by one of three specific chiroskeptics who police the chiropractic page all day long as far as I can tell. They love to throw "vandalism" accusations around - and usually are vastly overstating the matter. That being said, I have suggested a "disarming" strategy, where both sides would remove links in a balanced way, but my suggestion was met with silence.

Now as far as the link farming goes. Yes, virtually all of the critical sites are linked together through the SkepticRing, Anti-Quackery Ring, Chiropractic Subluxated Ring and other ways fashioned specifically for the purpose of boosting Search Engine ranking. A lot of those sites are operated by Stephen Barrett and his buddy Sammy Homola - Chirobase.org, Quackwatch.org, and NCAHF. They're three organizations all saying the same thing. What's really slimy is that they state opinions then reference their sister-sites support to that opinion. A lot of the links are operated or moderated by Fyslee (one of the three chiroskepics users who regularly accuse people of vandalism for removing links to his sites). Check out his userpage to see which sites he operates and moderates for. These chiroskepitics are working together to actively employ search engine tricks such as artifically boosting Google ranking by adding external links to their sites all over Wikipedia. I have documented this. Their goal is for a researcher curious about chiropractic to encounter their anti-chiropractic sites first on a Google search. Given these organizations' objective, I can certainly understand why they would want to do this. Unfortunately, the tactics that they employ are objectionable to both Google and Wikipedia. Hopefully these organizations will get wise to the chiroskeptic ring and ban their sites.

I'm not sure what to do in the meantime. One thing that I would like to suggest is that a website is linked to only once in the external links section. As it is now, they are linking to Chirobase and NCAHF several times throughout the article and in the external links section. Talk about boosting external link popularity!

I think that if you showed that some of these links are not providing anything new and are just marketing tools, you should be able to justify deleting them on the discussion page... just prepare yourself for an attack and false accusations. If you can handle all of that with a cool head, I say, "Be bold with your edits!"

I welcome your continued participation on the Chirorpactic and chiropractic-related articles. I think that you have a lot of great insight to offer Wikipedia and you seem to have a vary good graspe on Wikipedia's guidelines. I look forward to your future edits and discussions.

As a side note, I think the reason the chiroskeptics are "shouting" so loud is that they are realizing that nobody is listening to them. Chiropractic is growing faster than ever and more and more patients are receiving the benefits everyday. Levine2112 00:41, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Note - for those of you who wish to subpoena information (and you should) from Wikipedia, about the activities of these entities above in regards to individual clients, contact me, and I'll provide the data you need for lawsuits, subpoenas, cease and desist letters - and more. Wikipedia is already on notice about the problem. Frankly, their system is goofy, and I can see how they got manipulated. The articles in the media criticizing Wikipedia are on target, and there needs to be more of them. Wikipedia deserves the criticism.

(3) The Quackbuster manipulation of internet search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.):

Ever wonder how the crap quackbusters spew about people, therapies, or products they don't like appears FIRST on the internet search engines? I'm about to tell you how they do that, how to stop it, and how to sue them individually, and together, for having done it. You're going to love this.

There is, on the internet, a whole industry surrounding the idea of getting YOUR information on the first page of search engines like Google. The quackbuster operation uses a company to get their defamation, and false and misleading information on the first page, and the first several pages, of a search engine. If you are a target of theirs, you need to know this, and how it works.

How do they manipulate search engine placement? They use the services of a company called Webring which, for a fee, ties their webring together in such a way as to give each and every of theirr websites top google placement. The Anti-Quackery webring has 85 websites banded together. Their Skeptic webring has 150 websites. Their Chiropractic Subluxation webring has about five websites. They all work together.

Here is how the company WebRing explains their service:

WebRing offers a unique and effective means of searching, locating and navigating between web sites with similar themes. WebRing allows web site owners to group their sites together into ring communities, and provides a navigation tool that links web sites together called a NavBar. Linked sites not only eliminate the necessity of repetitive searches, but the NavBar also accumulates hits from all of the sites so that a hit to one site is a hit to all sites. Additionally, the NavBar acts as a link so your web site is linked to every other site in the community. So now your site is benefiting from higher search engine results because it has more hits and more links.

I’m going to give you a short tour of how it works by having you click on a URL. This will take you to a page on the Webring website reserved for the “Anti-quackery webring” manipulated by Paul Lee PT. When you scroll down to see the list of the 85 members, you will notice that there are but a few major websites. Most of them are one-page “made up” stuff. Go here: http://g.webring.com/hub?ring=antiquackerysite

Note - for those of you who wish to subpoena information (and you should) from webring.com about the activities of these entities above in regards to individual clients, contact me, and I'll provide the data you need for subpoenas - and more. But, for sure, subpoena all personal, and business, information gathered by Webring for each and every member, and ringmaster, of the “Anti-quackery webring,” the “Skeptic webring,” the “Anti-quackery links,” and the “Chiropractic is Subluxated” webring.

(4) The Quackbuster infiltration of (Usenet) Internet AltMed Discussion Groups:

Ilena Rosenthal, the head of the anti silicone breast implant Humantics Foundation has been a victim of the New York agency's campaign for years. How has she been victimized? Two ways. (1) First, she's a target by an organized group that seeks to deride her, personally, so as to nullify her efforts to show the severe health problems of silicone breast implants. The New York agency's tactic is to attack her in the internet discussion groups. Their favorite internet tactic is claim that this happily married woman has constant sex with huge numbers of men, and animals. They get away with this, for the most part, because they use "fake" internet IDs, difficult to trace, and because those who are known live outside the US, and they know Rosenthal does not have the money to sue them in several different foreign countries simultaneously. (2) Stephen Barrett of quackwatch.com, and Terry Polevoy from Canada filed a false lawsuit against her - and, even though the lawsuit rebounded against them, and they had to pay her attorney fees of over $500,000, the fight took its toll.

The New York based group invades every internet discussion group it can find, and using similar tactics to those used against Rosenthal, derides and defames those trying to upgrade the health system. There are not that many of them, and we can now identify who most of them are, and who they work for.

Note - for those of you who wish to subpoena information (and you should) from discussion group files, and hosting companies, about the activities of these entities above in regards to individual clients, contact me, and I'll provide the data you need for subpoenas - and more.

(5) Blacklisting certain health practitioners:

In the early 1990s, now deceased John Renner MD, then president of the infamous National Council Against Health Fraud (NCAHF) had put together a "blacklist" of health professionals which he was distributing to Health Insurance companies and State licensing Boards. There were about 2500 names on that list at the time. The idea of the secret list was to, obviously, damage these health professionals behind the scenes without those professionals knowing about the attack. Renner, I think, was trying for secrecy so he wouldn't get his ass sued off. The list did make an appearance, though, and Renner, and his minions began to have trouble.

Then, a second list appeared, this time assembled, and marketed, by an attorney named Grace Powers Monaco who had started a company called Emprise, which received some of its funding from a $500k annual grant from the National Institute for Health (NIH). Emprise was killed after two things happened - (1) a group called "Act UP" went after their funding, and (2) Emprise got named in a RICO suit in Texas. NIH, among other things, pulled their funding.

So, what happened to the secret list? Do you think the New York agency just dropped that idea? Of course not.

I know where the list is, and how its being used today, and who's doing it. There are over 40,000 names on that list now, probably the names of health professionals who have side-stepped away from the drugs, drugs, and more drugs paradigm, and use successful methods on their patients.

The list is part of a "clearing house" operation used by insurance companies to make decisions about payment. When either a practitioner, or a patient, files a claim for insurance benefits, the data is fed into a computer which then checks the name of the practitioner involved in the transaction. If the name of the practitioner is on the 40,000 list, the claim is re-routed through the "fraud unit" of the insurance billing system, who then handles the claim as though it were fraudulent. From there, it gets bundled with other claims having gone the same route, and goes to a special unit that has connections to the Federal Health Fraud Task Force. Soon, the practitioner gets a visit, not just from a Federal Investigator, but a State Licensing Board Investigator. Why? What has the practitioner done wrong? Nothing, of course. Someone just put him or her on the secret list so that they would be the subject of intense suspicion and scrutiny, constantly.

As I said above, I know how its being done, and by whom. But, I don't have enough information to, yet, prove it in Court. What I need is a related Federal Court case with subpoena power available. If someone has that, I can provide the information on who, what, where, and why, certain things need to be subpoenaed. Why "Federal?" Because the operation is spread over several States.

(6) Blocking health information from the internet

Having trouble finding legitimate research papers that back up the science of advanced health care? Of course you are. There is a systematic attempt to make those kinds of scientific research NOT available on the internet. I'm not going into detail here, for the investigation of how this works, AND WHO, SPECIFICALLY, is behind it is ongoing. But, it is happening.

MORE:

There is an awful lot of money and power playing in the US healthcare system stakes. The system is badly broken, and there are those who want to keep it that way because, simply, the money flow is tremendous, and a healthy American public is not in the interests of big pharma, and other multi-national groups. Alert, healthy people tend to make reasonable demands of their government.

Our US health care system is broken, and there is a misinformation group, based in New York City, that for a price, will attack anyone, or any company, or group that exist. Just write the checks, and they'll begin. Their client list is impressive.

Stay tuned..

Does Over-Alkalizing Lead To Sickness or Disease or Will It Promote Health and Vitality??

Posted by thomenda7xx on Saturday, February 12, 2011

Q: Does Alkaline Water Promote Health?

Manufacturers of water ionizers state that their products produce more alkaline water, which allows your body to better absorb minerals and antioxidants from water. Are these health claims real? Do you recommend ionizers?

A: Answer (Published 9/4/2002) Updated 5/13/2005

Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. states “Home water ionizers, which I've seen offered for sale on the internet, are just the latest twist in the ongoing effort to promote the notion that alkaline water is somehow protective of your health. The underlying idea is that you can prevent disease by balancing your body's pH. Promoters claim that alkaline water is energizing, hydrates the body more effectively than regular water, improves the taste of food when used in cooking, promotes "regularity," helps the body absorb nutrients more effectively, and on and on. I've even seen claims that it can cure everything from obesity and high blood pressure to breast cancer.

None of these claims are true. Furthermore, your body needs absolutely no help in adjusting its pH.”

Dr. Robert O, Young, Ph.D. states, “There are NO dis-ease or diseases without being too acidic. You cannot have loss of energy, irritation, catarrh, inflammation, ulceration or degeneration without acid. You cannot be sick and alkaline. So if the body needs no help in adjusting its pH then why does it get sick. When we understand that the body is alkaline by design and acidic by function then we understand that the body does need help in maintaining its alkaline design with proper alkaline food, drink, exercise, thoughts and deeds. The basic knowledge that the body is alkaline by design and acidic by function is NOT taught at medical school. In fact, current medical savants no nothing about tissue acidosis or what I call latent tissue acidosis and the cause of dis-ease or disease. What is latent tissue acidosis? It is the buildup of acidic dietary and/or metabolic acids that are not properly eliminated through the four channels of elimination – bowels, kidney, lungs and/or skin which are then eliminated or deposited into the connective and fatty tissues. The body must eliminate its dietary and/or metabolic waste products from the blood via these four channels of elimination or the blood will lose its alkaline iso-struture and an the result would be death. Dr. Weil is absolutely wrong when he states that the body needs absolutely no help in adjusting its pH. The body needs a continued supply of alkalinity to buffer or neutralize the acids of environment, stress, diet and metabolism. Everyday the body produces more acids then the body can keep up with. Metabolism of a normal adult diet results in the generation of 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton or acid per day, which must be excreted if the alkaline acid-base balance is to be maintained. A meq is a milliequivalent which is an expression of concentration of substance per liter of solution, calculated by dividing the concentration in milligrams per 100 milliliters by the molecular weight. This process involves two basis steps; 1) the reabsorption of the filtered sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3 and, 2) excretion of the 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton or acid produced each day by the formation of titratable acidity and NH4+ or ammonium. Both steps involve H+ or proton or acid secretion from the cells of the kidney into the urine. That is why we age. Aging is actually a fermenting and acidic process. The body has an alkaline buffering system which helps to maintain alkalinity, but when this becomes compromised from an over acidic lifestyle and diet, you start having the symptoms of dis-ease and disease caused by metabolic acidic waste products. So, absolutely you should make daily attempts to increase alkalinity with alkaline ionized water and food to prevent and/or reverse dis-ease and disease.

How does a person measure the acid/base of the blood when the blood is always maintaining its delciate pH balance at 7.365? Any excess acidity from diet or metabolism is eliminated from the blood and out into the connective tissues to preserve its delicate pH balance. The biochemistry in maintaining blood alkalinity is quite extreme. The body will sacrifice all other organs and organ systems to maintain the delicate pH balance of the blood at 7.365. Sodium bicarbonate is produced by the body as the #1 buffer of dietary and/or metabolic acid to maintain the alkalinity of the blood and then the tissues. In the body, tt takes 20 molecules of sodium bicarbonate to buffer or neutralize 1 part of carbonic acid (metabolite of metabolism) in order to maintain a blood and/or tissue pH of 7.35 to 7.4. That is staggering 20 to 1 ratio. You would have to do some serious alkalizing just to keep up with the body's need for more alkalinity. But that is why we age--or should I say "ferment" from over-acidity. Which by the way, I might add, is why ALL disease or most dis-ease is a result of excess acid and NOT excess base(alkalinity). This was proven by Alexis Carrel in his chicken experiment in 1908. Carrel received a Nobel prize for this research. He was able to keep a chicken heart alive for 20 years until he decided to stop changing the alkaline mineral salts every 48 hours. What we learn from Alexis Carrel's work is that you can keep the body cells alive indefinitely if you maintain the alkaline mineral salts daily. The health of human cells that make up tissues and organs are only as healthy as the alkaline fluids in which they are bathed. The human cell cannot tolerate low alkalinity and can never tolerate ANY acid condition. The cell begins its biological transformation becoming bacteria in the first stage; then yeast in the second stage; then mold in the 3rd stage of transformation until the anatomical elements of the organized cell (microzymas) are released to become part of some other organized cell.In the ph Miracle book I share what I call the "fish bowl metaphor." The fish bowl metaphor begins with a question. The question is this; "If the fish is sick what would you do, treat the fish or change the water?" The logical answer is, you would change the water. Why? Because the fish is only as healthy as the water it swims in. The fish is the human cell and the water is the fluids around the cell(s). The ocean has a delicate pH balance of 8.3 and is maintain by alkaline mineral salts. Our internal fluids are like the ocean and are maintained by the same alkaline mineral salts - sodium, chloride, magnesium, potassium and calcium. At the present the ocean pH because of global warming has gone from 8.3 to 8.2. This huge decrease in the ocean pH has caused potential health risks to all sea life including the loss of the coral reefs. The same thing is happening to many of us with body warming, as dietary and/or metabolic acids are causing the loss of bone and muscle in order to maintain the delicate alkaline pH of the blood and tissues. The result is an array of health challanges from arthritis, osteoporosis to cancer all caused by the buildup from dietary and/or metabolic acid that the body could NOT manage!”

Dr. Andrew Weil states: “Normally, the pH of blood and most body fluids is near seven, which is close to neutral. This is under very tight biological control because all of the chemical reactions that maintain life depend on it. Unless you have serious respiratory or kidney problems, body pH will remain in balance no matter what you eat or drink.

Dr. Robert O. Young states: “Normally, the pH of the blood and most all body fluids has an alkaline pH at 7.365. Any change in this pH is the result of dietary and metabolic acids that have not been properly eliminated through the four channels of elimination – the bowels, kidneys, lungs and skin. When we over-burden our body with an acidic lifestyle and diet this causes stress and breakdown of these elimination organs not only kidney and lung dysfunction and degeneration but also breakdown in the bowels and on the surface of the skin. This is when dis-ease and so-called disease will be manifested as an effect of the acidic cause. All your organs that filter or eliminate dietary and/or metabolic acids, including the bowels, skin, kidneys and lungs will begin to breakdown from excess tissue acidity and you will begin to experience symptoms that medical doctors call disease. Your life depends on daily doses of alkalinity from ingesting alkaline foods and drinks. Exercise is also critical in helping the body remove tissue acids out through the pores of the skin in the form of sweat. When the body cannot remove its own acidic waste products they are then stored in the fatty tissues, i.e. the hips, thighs, buttocks, waistline, breast and brain. The body will pack on more and more fat to store more and more bodily acids if the lifestyle and diet does not change to an alkaline lifestyle and diet. For those who are not putting on weight due to tissue acidosis this is the result of acid damage to the root system or the small intestine where stems cells are made. In a state of tissue acidosis, being underweight is more serious than being overweight. At least when you are overweight the body is protecting itself from an over-acidic lifestyle and diet which can be reversed with alkaline food and drink.

Once again, medical doctors and other savants do not recognize "latent tissue acidosis." They recognize compensated acidosis and decompensated acidosis. In compensated acidosis breathing increases in order to blow off more carbonic acid which decreases PCO2 because of the lowered carbonate or HCO3. When the breathing rate can no longer get any faster and when the kidneys can no longer increase their function to keep up with the acid load from an acidic meal or over-exercise or even too much emotional stress, then the blood pH starts to change from a pH of 7.365 to 7.3 then to 7.2. At a blood pH of 7.1 (still in an alkaline state) the heart relaxes and the client goes into a coma and then dies. There is a daily rhythm or oscilation to this acid base, ebb and flow of the fluids of the body. The stored acids are mobilized from the connective tissues and Pishinger's spaces while we sleep. These acids reach their maximum (base tide) concentration in this fluid, and thereby the urine at 2am is the most acidic. The acid content of the urine directly reflects the acid content of the fluid in the Pishinger's spaces, the extracellular fluid compartments of the body. On the other hand the Pishinger's spaces become most alkaline around 2pm (the base flood) as then the most sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3 is being generated by the cover cells of the stomach to alkalize the food and drink we have ingested. If your urine is not alkaline by 2pm you are definitely in an ACIDIC condition and lacking in alkaline reserves necessary to maintain the alkaline design of the body. This is when sickness and dis-ease is eminent. The ideal pH of the urine should run between 7.2 and 8.4 and can by maintain at optinum by supplementing mineral salts such as pHlavor and phour salts.”

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-221-phour-salts-tm-454-grams.aspx

Dr. Andrew Weil states, “As for water, you should consider the fact that alkaline water is common throughout the western states but to my knowledge it has not protected anyone from the diseases and disorders that occur elsewhere in the U.S.”

Dr. Robert O. Young states: “Here is where Dr. Weil shows is lack of understanding in the biochemistry of the body and the scientific research from myself and others who have documented the benefits of living, eating and drinking alkaline. The following are just a few references documenting the need for an alkaline lifestyle and diet:

As recently as October 2009, a Cambridge University study published in the highly respected British Journal of Nutrition stated:The concept of diet-induced ‘acidosis’ as a cause of disease has been a subject of interest for more than a century. The present article reviews the history of our evolving understanding of physiological pH, the physiological support for the concept of ‘acidosis’, the causes of acidosis, how it is recognised, its short-term effects as well as the long-term clinical relevance of preventative measures, and the research support for normalisation of pH.The available research makes a compelling case that diet-induced acidosis…is a real phenomenon, and has a significant, clinical, long-term pathophysiological effect that should be recognised and potentially counterbalanced by dietary means.1

The researchers, Pizzornoa, Frassettoa and Katzinger have clearly identified that acidosis (increased acidity in the blood – pH below 7.365) is a very real threat to our health.

Furthermore, my research has shown that the effects of acidosis can directly contribute to various cancers2, 3, 12, arthritis4, osteoporosis5, cardiovascular disease6, diabetes7, depression/psychological disfunctions8, Crohn’s disease9, kidney disease10. Yes, all of the top five killers in Western society and a whole heap more. Furthermore, my experience and the experience of those who have used my twelve week pH Miracle Lifestyle and Diet have given me significant proof that living alkaline lifestyle and diet also leads to weight/fat loss, muscle gain (also scientifically proven11), energy increases, libido increases, skin improvements and more.

Alkaline Diet & Cancer

Alkaline Minerals Prevent Cancer GrowthIn March 2009, Robey, Baggett, Kirkpatrick et al published a paper in the American Association for Cancer Research Journal proving that alkaline minerals (in this case NaHCO3 – sodium bicarbonate) that raise the extracellular pH of cancer tumor cells and prevent metastasis. Their research shows that the pH of the tumors are always acidic and by using highly alkaline minerals to raise the pH – the growth of the cancer (and involvement of lymph nodes) is prevented.Source: Cancer Research 69, 2260, March 15, 2009Cancer Thrives in an Acidic EnvironmentAlso in Cancer Research Journal, in 2006, Gatenby, Gawlinski et al researched and discovered that “chronic exposure of normal tissue to an acidic microenvironment produces toxicity by: (a) normal cell death… and (b) extracellular matrix degradation”. They proffer that glucose imbalance (an acid lifestlye) leads to a chronically acidic microenvironment (the normal cells and molecules that surround a tumor cell) which provides the perfect base for cancer.Source: Cancer Research 66, 5216-5223, May 15, 2006Acidosis & OsteoporosisAlkaline Minerals Prevent OsteoporosisA recently published study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (Vol 94, No 1 96-102, 2009) has provided further evidence that the consumption of and supplementation with alkaline minerals is essential for good health. The objective of the study was to understand the effect of alkaline minerals (potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate and potassium chloride) on bone health – specifically, the ability of these alkaline minerals to slow the bone resorption rate and calcium excretion. The participants who were taking the bicarbonate supplements had significant reductions in urinary N-telopeptide and calcium excretion when compared to the control group. This means that when taking the alkaline minerals, bones remained stronger and healthier.

Cardiovascular Disease & the Alkaline Diet

Alkaline Minerals Critical to Prevention of CVD

In the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, Joseph Campbell provides a thorough review of the scientific literature surrounding minerals and disease and highlights that the alkaline minerals, magnesium and calcium, are critical to the prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). He also highlights that “Excessive consumption of acid producing foods, results in metabolic acidosis. When this occurs, the parathyroid hormone stimulates the removal of calcium from the bones and teeth (osteolysis), to buffer or neutralize the excess acidity. After many years, such calcium loss results in depleted bone, bone weakness and structure.”

Autoimmune Disease Inhibited by Alkaline Ionized Water

Effect of electrolytic water intake on lifespan of autoimmune disease prone mice.

Research from Texas UniversityRecent studies on ionized electrolyzed water indicate that anode or acidic water is most effective as disinfectants; whereas, reduced or alkaline water processed through cathode is used as safe drinking water.

The present drinking water study was undertaken in two strains of autoimmune disease prone mice to establish the spontaneous disease process and longevity.

Weanling MRL/lpr and NZBxNZW [B/W] F1 female mice were provided daily with (1) tap water [pH ~7.5, oxygen reduction potential (ORP)~600+] (2) electrolyzed water with pH of ~9.0 and ORP ~400- and (3) hyper-reduced water with pH~10.0 and ORP~600-. Mice were provided H2O and chow diet ad libitum and weekly body weights and spontaneous deaths were recorded. The mean survival data recorded as days for MRL/lpr mice [25 mice/group] is as follows: (1) tap water 235±25, (2) reduced water 287±40 and (3) hyper-reduced water 346±45 days [<0.05]. href="http://www.energiseforlife.com/wordpress/2010/03/24/alkaline-minerals-scientifically-proven-to-reduce-risk-of-cancer-arthritis-osteoporosis-cvd-more/www.beaco.hu/adatok/dw/dw_68.pdf" style="text-decoration: none; color: rgb(34, 136, 187); ">The Open Nutrition Journal, 2008, 2, 100-105

Do you want to safeguard yourself from degenerative diseases while living with more energy, a lean, fit body, great skin, youthfulness and vitality?

How You Can Guarantee Your Health With Alkaline Minerals

The above studies prove, without question, that having sufficient alkaline mineral buffers to neutralise dietary, lifestyle and metabolic acids is critical to maintaining excellent health, energy and vitality and to the prevention of degenerative disease.

It is also highlighted in several of these studies that using an alkaline mineral supplement is an effective way of guaranteeing your daily intake of alkaline minerals is sufficient. The efficacy of using a mineral supplement (and these supplements providing a usable form of these minerals) is further supported by this June 2009 study published in the Nutrition Journal, “Effect of a supplement rich in alkaline minerals on acid-base balance in humans”. The study concluded “that the ingestion of a multimineral supplement is associated with both a significant increase in blood and urinary pH”.

If you want to guarantee you have sufficient alkaline minerals than supplementation is a smart choice.I’ve been working and researching in the alkaline diet field for over thirty years now and have seen a lot of supplements come and go, and the one thing that determines whether a supplement will be successful or not is: does it work.Poor quality supplements get found out very quickly.

With that in mind, these are the two alkaline mineral supplements that I personally recommend to you. I have been using these personally and recommending them to my clients for over twenty years now and I know that they are incredibly effective.

Young pHorever pHour Salts: Alkaline Minerals of Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium

Almost instantly neutralizes harmful acids.

Young pHorever Alkaline Minerals contains all four primary alkaline minerals: calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Once these mineral buffers hit the system, they quickly neutralize excess acids.Another bonus of this supplement is that it makes green drinks taste better when mixed together!

Young pHorever: pHlavor Mineral Salts

A comprehensive multi-mineral formula that will aid your pH balance and gives your body all of the most essential alkaline minerals.Diet Comes FirstYou should always aim to get an abundance of nutrients from whole foods – there are no shortcuts here. This is just essential. To make sure you’re getting plenty of alkaline minerals in your life I believe you should both consume good quality (pref organic) fresh, vibrant, healthy, high-water content, often raw foods PLUS I have found that you should supplement this to ensure that you always have a safety net. It is SO important to get enough of the right minerals every day that I fully believe in supplementation in this case.

This is particularly important if you have been out of balance, because there will be a lot of repair, detoxification and tidying up to do in your blood and other cells, so providing your body with an abundance of alkaline minerals is one of the very best things you can do.

Note on Sodium: I am talking about proper, pure sodium, not table salt or the salt added to refined foods.Today’s common table salt is a poison that has nothing in common with natural liquid colloidal salt. Most common table salt is made up of chemicals that pollute your body and wreak havoc on your health. Your table salt is actually 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals such as moisture absorbents, and iodine. Dried at over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, the excessive heat alters the natural chemical structure of the salt causing the potential for a myriad of health challenges in your body. [see the full article here]

Sodium is essential in the body, and the above listed alkaline vegetables, fruit and water provide you with a good, clean source of this important salt.

Sufficient alkaline minerals in our food and drink is essential to good health. Your body really needs you to minimize the acids you consume and keep putting alkali in. When we consume acidic foods and drinks, your body uses the alkaline substances in your body (calcium from bones, for example) to neutralize these acids which causes havoc. The body only has a very tiny supply of alkaline buffers and so by giving the body an abundance of alkalinity we not only ease this burden but also give the body the tools it needs to work optimally. The four main alkaline minerals are calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium (clean, not refined table salt). These are abundant in fresh vegetables (particularly greens), and we advise you to eat plenty each day!

I also recommend two supplements. In the short-medium term these will help undo any previous damage and assist in detoxifying dietary and/or metabolic acids, molds and fungus and in the long-term will help to maintain the alkaline design of your body, giving you a daily safety net to ensure you get enough of these life-changing/life saving alkaline minerals day-in-day-out."

Dr. Andrew Weil states, “The health claims for water ionizers and for alkaline water are bogus. Save your money.” Andrew Weil, M.D.

Dr. Robert O. Young states, “I guess ignorance is bliss. Dr. Weil makes statements but has NO scientific evidence to back up his false and misleading statements.”

The Wake Up Call

Posted by thomenda7xx on Friday, February 11, 2011

Hi, my name is Denise. I’d dropped twenty-three pounds in four weeks and felt like there was something crawling under my skin. I experienced diarrhea, intense pain behind my eyes, and I craved clay. Yet no doctor could tell me what was wrong!

It was May 1988 as I began my journey to live a better life. At that time, I’d worked for the past ten years in a local hospital, testing other people’s blood to help determine the causes of their illnesses.

Yet when I tested my own blood, I could find nothing wrong. Despite following my doctors’ orders, I continued to lose weight quickly and felt nauseous all the time. The terrible cravings continued and, when my teeth felt loose one day in June, I knew I was becoming malnourished because my system was not absorbing any nutrients.

And still every one of my blood tests, X-rays, CT scans and other diagnostic tests came back normal--no abnormality, yet my symptoms persisted. Why was I so sick and continuing to fail? Why couldn’t the medical professionals find the answers to my problem?

I began to question traditional medical practices and the work I was doing as a professional in the medical field. I questioned the fact that when I tested the blood of patients diagnosed with fourth stage liver cancer, the tests showed liver enzymes within normal limits. Something is wrong with this methodology, I thought.

I had the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, even possibly ulcerative colitis, but these diagnostic tests all came back negative. That just didn't make sense to me.

Finally, my search led me to a prevention medicine doctor in New York City. Desperate, I felt it was my last resort, and I made the appointment with high hopes. Within three weeks of following his recommended dietary changes, adding supplements and understanding what nutritional therapy was about, I felt better and my symptoms calmed down.

As I was feeling better I began to seek out books on nutrition and medicine. One in particular, “What Your Doctor Didn't Learn in Medical School,” covered much of what this new doctor had taught me. More books on nutrition opened my eyes further: extra Vitamin A for this, zinc helps that, essential fats, B-complex, minerals--they are all good for something, but the key is to keep them all in proper balance.

As I continued to learn many dietary theories, I came across the work of Dr. Robert O. Young at the ph Miracle Center in San Diego. His research about the importance of an alkaline lifestyle and balance to achieve better health fascinated me…let's see...the world is in balance: night/day, up/down, in/out, warm/cold, sick/health, acid/alkaline…I needed to investigate!

The friend who’d enlightened me about Dr. Young's work told me, “His work had turned leukemia around in seventy-two hours.” Of course, I didn’t believe it. If it was true, why wasn't it headline news, and why don't we all know about it?

Only The Beginning

It’s here that my real story begins. The more I read Dr. Young’s work, the more I sought answers. I decided to enroll in his class about live cell microscopy. With a background in blood testing, I knew this was going to be interesting...

Ten days before I was all set to travel across the country to California, my mother was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML.) In AML, the bone marrow releases immature white blood cells called blasts. Blasts should normally develop into white blood cells that fight infection. In a diagnosed leukemia patient, they have not developed enough and are now in the blood prematurely. However, when blasts are found in a leukemia profile, something has to be done quickly because time is of the essence. The bone marrow may also make abnormal red blood cells and platelets. The number of abnormal cells (or leukemia cells) grows quickly. These cells will crowd out normal red cell production, healthy white blood cells and platelets that the body needs.

I discovered this news in the local laboratory where I worked. How odd was that? I’d been told that Dr. Young had cured someone’s leukemia within seventy-two hours, and now my mom is diagnosed with the same disease! Why did my friend specifically say “leukemia,” and not some kind of cancer? It seemed so unreal to me.

I knew from a conventional stand point that her blood was fifty percent leukemic, and if I didn't get her into the hospital and under the care of a doctor, she only had a few days to live. I rushed home and called the ph Miracle center. Amazingly, Dr. Young was passing by when the phone rang and answered my call.

After a brief discussion of my mother’s situation, Dr. Young proceeded to educate me about how to change the way we look at this disease. He told me, “Your mother is an undiagnosed celiac and not making any blood, so now her body has to send white blood cells out into circulation, and that is what they call leukemia. The medical doctors only know how to poison the cells to kill them, and that will also kill her. She needs to start making her own red blood cells again and her white blood cell count will come down.”

Frightened, I was unsure if I should follow the advice of this nutrition scientist, researcher and naturopath who I hadn’t even heard of until three months ago. I really didn’t know much about him and his theories, and he was literally across the country from me and my mother.

I immediately ordered the products and supplements designed to reduce acid and help get her back into an alkaline state of health. They arrived overnight. The following evening, after taking these nutritional products, my mother did not have her night sweats, nor did she have that hacking cough she’d developed over the past two to three weeks.

She even felt better the next morning. So, I thought, something must be right here.

But, still I was fearful and didn't want to upset her, and if something happened, I would never forgive myself for not getting some professional help at hand.

So, she went into the hospital, by her decision, to be treated conventionally. The treatment for AML at the time consisted of chemotherapy infusion constantly for a week. I asked the doctor if I could help her through this by treating her from a nutritional standpoint. He had no problem with it. I began by using aloe vera, and gave her alkaline water all day long. I supplied her with supplements that I understood to be helpful, and pureed food, because I wanted her to get the most benefit from them to heal and save her energy in order to overcome this terrible "blood cancer."

Then, I read in the book “Sick & Tired” by Dr. Young that leukemia is not cancer at all; it’s the body's inability to make red blood cells. He says the reality is that that the physical body is sending out immature white blood cells from the bone marrow to compensate for not making any red blood cells.

So what does conventional medicine do? They kill these white blood cells with chemo, along with killing everything else. Now, I know, not a good idea to help someone diagnosed with this condition. She needed to balance herself in order to make healthy red blood cells, so that her bone marrow stopped producing the immature white blood cells. In other words, get with the cause and stop treating the symptoms.

She went through the chemotherapy; I threw away her hospital food, and traveled back and forth to the hospital, pureeing her food because the villi of her small intestinal tract were impaired and not absorbing nutrients. Therefore, she could not make red blood cells. She lived on green soups, healing soups, smoothies, and only took her meds with alkaline water.

An infection control specialist came in and wondered why she didn’t have any fevers, no open sores, no chills, no spleen enlargement, not the typical case of AML for a woman of her age. Little did they know I was working very hard with non-conventional modalities: energy medicine techniques; Ayurveda, EFT; Reiki, a mycodetox supplement; prayer, and A Course in Miracles, to name a few - it was the least I could do

At one point, her oncologist asked me what I was giving her. I told him some supplements and aloe vera. He looked perplexed. I was afraid to say I know something he didn’t know, and was listening to the research of alkaline balanced health. This was my mother, my best friend, and I wanted her to live!

She’d made it through the initial treatment and came home to be treated on an outpatient basis. “How bittersweet” I overheard the doctor say to his nurse on our way out. I was glad to be out of the hospital environment.

After three months, mom was stable enough for me to head out to the ph Miracle center and work with the class I’d intended to take before her diagnosis. When I returned home, I told my mom that now I really knew what to do for her, and for myself, to provide better health going forward.

A short time later, she was erroneously administered a flu shot. Immuno-compromised, her body didn’t need another thing to fight, and she succumbed to its effects and passed shortly thereafter.

I look back at this time in my life as my “ah-ha” moment. I know now, it all happened for a greater purpose. I’d been given the tools to understand health and healing in a new light, and I know that you can’t heal something unless you consider the cause.

I knew this was my wake-up call; consciousness is right at our fingertips, but we’re not paying attention. I learned the importance of energy balance, consciousness, transitioning and alternative therapies do work…one of the last things my mother said to me was “nobody ever had what we had…” I now know what that means. She understood I had more than just a daughter’s interest in helping her because much later, I found out from friends and family that she said, “I know the only one who can really help me is my daughter...”

Both our illnesses were a wake-up call for action. I searched to find answers to make a difference in her treatment because I knew what would happen to her when treated conventionally, yet and in the process, I learned to live in balance, seek and trust a higher truth, pay attention to those “ah-ha” moments and answer that wake-up call when it shows up. Now, I use this to help others along the way… No one has all the answers, but it helps when you pay attention to the resources that present themselves to you.

Taking Vitmain D3 Prevents Falls

Posted by thomenda7xx on Thursday, January 20, 2011

"To help prevent falls, the elderly should cut down on meds, alkalizie their body with green foods and drinks, decrease acidic foods and drinks, and increase vitamin D3," states Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of the pH Miracle Living Center.

By Katherine Harmon
January 13, 20114

How many late-life declines can be traced back to a fall? Whether or not it involves a fractured hip or just a general shake-up, even a minor spill can precipitate a rapid loss of function and independence or even death in seniors.

"Falls are one of the most common health problems experienced by older adults," Mary Tinetti, of the Yale School of Medicine's Program in Geriatrics, said in a prepared statement. The majority of falls in older adults (some 70 percent) occur when no one is looking, and about 60 percent of older adults with cognitive impairment suffer at least one fall each year, according to a new reportTinetti co-authored. These tumbles often lead to an extended hospital stay or an assisted living admission. "Given their frequency and consequences, falls are as serious a health problem for older persons as heart attacks for strokes," she said.

The report features a set of guidelines for preventing falls in the elderly, updating formal recommendations from the American and British geriatric societies for the first time in 10 years. The new recommendations were published online January 13 in theJournal of the American Geriatrics Society.

To reduce falls among community-dwelling older adults, Tinetti and her colleagues recommended:

• Working with a doctor to reduce the number and dosage of medications, especially antidepressants (including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), sedatives and antipsychotics;

• Increasing vitamin D supplementation to 800 international units per day if a person is likely deficient or seems to be a risk for falls;

• And careful physical activity, such as physical therapy or tai chi to improve balance, flexibility and mobility.

These interventions and others (including assessing footwear, physical environment, visual acuity and circulatory health) can help reduce a senior's risk of falling, Tinetti and her colleagues found after reviewing nearly a decade's worth of literature on the subject. Older adults are often on a host of prescription medications to address physical and psychological ills, and despite their recommendation to reduce the number and dosage of medications, the research team acknowledged that in some cases, "discontinuation of a particular high-risk is not possible because of medical conditions."

Rather than focusing on just one of the recommendations, as previous studies have suggested, the researchers assert that the guidelines should be considered en masse. "Because we looked at not only what recommendations were given, but also which [were] carried out, we're confident that multifactorial interventions is the best course of action," said Tinetti.

Other recent research has suggested that avoiding alcohol and listening to music while exercising have helped to keep seniors standing.

Tomatoes Found To Prevent Vascular Diseases

Posted by thomenda7xx on Friday, January 14, 2011

They are the most widely produced alklaine fruit in the world and now scientists in Japan have discovered that tomatoes contain a nutrient which could tackle the onset of vascular diseases. The research, published in the journal Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, reveals that an extracted compound, 9-oxo-octadecadienoic, has anti-dyslipidemic affects.

The team led by Dr Teruo Kawada, from Kyoto University and supported by the Research and Development Program for New Bio-industry Initiatives, Japan, focused their research on extracts which tackle dyslipidemia, a condition which is caused by an abnormal amount of lipids, such as cholesterol or fat, in the blood stream as a result of increased amounts of dietary and/or metabolic acids.

"Dyslipidemia itself usually causes no symptoms," said Kawada, "however; it can lead to symptomatic vascular diseases, such as arteriosclerosis and cirrhosis of the liver. In order to prevent these diseases it is important to prevent an increased build up of lipids as a result of the increased build-up of dietary and/or metabolic acids.

Tomato is already known to contain many compounds beneficial to health because of its alkalizing properties. In this study the team analyzed 9-oxo-octadecadienoic acid, to test its potential anti-dyslipidemia properties as a direct result of reducing acidosis.

The compound was found to enhance fatty acid oxidation and contributed to the regulation of hepatic lipid metabolism. These findings suggest that 9-oxo-octadecadienoic acid has anti- dyslipidemia affects and can therefore help prevent vascular diseases.

"Finding a compound which helps the prevention of obesity-related chronic diseases in foodstuffs is a great advantage to tackling these diseases", concluded Kawada. "It means that the tomato allows people to easily manage the onset of dyslipidemia through their daily diet."

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of the pH Miracle Living Center suggests, "dietary, metabolic and environmental acids cause the body to release lipids for chelating acids preventing damage to the walls of the veins and arteries. Tomatoes contain acid binding agents, such as 9-oxo-octdecadienoic that will chelate these acids and protect the vascular system from damage thus reducing or eliminating the release of lipids into the bloodstream preventing artherosclerosis."

"Shelley Redford Young has many wonderful recipes using the tomato in her books, Back to the House of Health I and II," states Dr. Young.

Dr Young's Organic Omega 3, 6, and 9 Essential Oil Blend

Posted by thomenda7xx on Tuesday, December 21, 2010

The Omega 3, 6 and 9 groups of fatty acids all contain essential fatty acids necessary for good health. The difference between them lies in the position of the first double bond from the methyl end or the Omega end of the carbon chain. As its name implies, the Omega 3 fatty acids have their first double bond at the 3rd position from the end of the chain, and likewise with the other two. Omega 6 has its first double bond at the 6th position from the end and Omega 9 has it at the 9th position from the end of the chain.

The following table represents the main fatty acids found in Omega 3, 6 and 9 Essential Oil Blend:

The main components of Omega 3, 6, 9 Essential Oil Blend by pH Miracle Organic:

Omega 3

alpha-linolenic acid ALA Linolenic acid LA Oleic acid OA

Omega 6

eicosapentaenoic acid EPA Gamma-linolenic acid GLA
docosahexaenoic acid DHA Dihomogamma linolenic acid DLA

Omega 9

Arachidonic acid AA

The Most Important Omega 3 Oils

The most important 2 fatty acids in the Omega 3 family are EPA and DHA as these are in limited supply and found in real quantities of hemp oil. Although DHA is important for pregnant and nursing mothers and for young children for healthy development of the brain and vision, EPA can be considered the most important for everyone else as it is necessary for the efficient functioning of the brain and the body at a cellular level.
The Omega 3's have anti-inflammatory and anti-coagulant properties as well as many other important health benefits. They reduce inflammation and can provide protection against cardiovascular disease, arthritis, skin conditions, depression and other mood-related disorders.

Omega 6

Although Omega 6 is wrongfully classed as pro-inflammatory, paradoxically, GLA, when sourced dietetically, has anti-inflammatory properties. It can help the bloating and pain associated with PMS. It also maintains healthy skin, hair and nails and generally helps to bring about hormonal and emotional balance.
Omega 3 and Omega 6 interact with each other so the balance between them is crucial for good health at a 2 to 1 ratio. Together they affect the production of hormonal type messengers called eicosanoids, which has an impact on inflammation in the body and all functions at a cellular level.

Omega 9

Omega 9 also has many preventative qualities as its main component, Oleic acid, helps to reduce the risk of arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke. Borage oil contains both Omega 6 and Omega 9 in the form of Gamma-linolenic acid and Oleic acid and is in fact, one of the best sources of GLA.

Pure EPA therefore contains a blend of all 3 of the important fatty acids EPA, GLA and OA making it an excellent choice of omega 3 6 9 supplement.

Benefits of Omega Dr Young’s 3 6 9 Essential Oil Blend

Omega fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats. They are healthier than saturated fats and have many metabolic functions. There are many benefits of omega 3 6 9 supplementation.

Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are essential fatty acids (EFA’s). Our bodies cannot manufacture them, and we must consume them in our diets. Omega 9 fatty acids are not essential. Our bodies need omega 9 fats, but we can manufacture them from other sources.

Omega 3 fatty acids prevent heart disease and the complications of heart attack. People who take omega 3 fatty acids have a lower mortality rate after heart attack than those who do not.

Omega 3 EFA’s improve cardiac risk factors, and help prevent CHD. They normalize lipid levels, lower blood pressure and improve glucose metabolism.

Omega 3’s may be helpful in a number of other conditions, to. Rheumatoid arthritis, depression, autism, and many other conditions may be improved by taking omega 3 EFA’s. They are necessary for growth and development, especially in the development of nervous tissue, and may improve cognitive function and emotional health.

Omega 6 fatty acids compete for enzymes with omega 3 EFA’s, so the amounts of the two need to be properly balanced. Less research has been done on omega 6 EFA’s than on omega 3’s. Most omega 6 fatty acids produce an inflammatory response that may be necessary for healthy immune system function. Research is beginning to indicate that one omega 6 EFA is, however, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, and may be even more important for healthy hearts than omega 3 oils.

Omega 9, as mentioned, is not an essential fatty acid. Omega 9 oils are monounsaturated, and are found in olive oil. Olive oil is known to have beneficial health effects, and omega 9 oils may be necessary for healthy immune system functioning.
